Engineering

Broach design, holder design, fixture design, and reverse engineering services. Kingsford Broach and Tool Inc.'s Engineering department has a combined 70 years experience in the design of custom broaches for aircraft, automotive, tooling, firearms, and general manufacturing industries world wide.

Our design engineers routinely tackle difficult broaching issues and find workable, cost effective solutions for customers in need.

From part print to finished product, Kingsford Broach and Tool, Inc. can design tooling, holders, and fixtures to meet the customer's requirements while maintaining strict production schedules and budget concerns. Reverse engineering services are also available on request.

Kingsford Broach and Tool, Inc.'s engineering professionals are available for on-site broach failure analysis, as well as troubleshooting  broach or broaching related issues.

Using state of the art design and engineering software, our engineers work closely with the customer to insure that finished part specifications are maintained while balancing high production and maximum tool life.

To reach this goal, our engineers will often use a compensated back taper.

Pioneered and perfected by the engineers at Kingsford Broach and Tool, Inc., a compensated back taper is a deliberate distortion of the cutting tool geometry that, by virtue of the back taper, generates a true form on the part. This intentional distortion provides maximum relief for all but the cutting edge of a tooth. This maximum relief eliminates drag, thus improving performance and prolonging tool life.
